Part of my 'California in Bloom' series, this piece is of the gorgeous Birds of Paradise flower that is everywhere here in California. They are a tropical flower, and in this piece I used vibrant shades of orange, yellow, violet, cobalt blue, and white to define the flower heads. The flowers overlap against each other to create an interesting composition against a rich kelly green background.
